Robert Evins “Bob” Morris, age 88, of Evergreen, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026.
He was born on January 9, 1938, in Owassa, Alabama, and was a lifelong resident of Evergreen, except during his years of military service.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1975. Following his service, he returned home where he devoted his life to his family, his faith, and his community.
Bob married the love of his life, Betty Sue Morris, in November of 1962, and they shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in August 2023.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Morris; his son, John Robert “Little Bob” Morris; his sister, Betty Tatum; his brother, Joseph Morris; and his parents, Carl Morris and Mary Trahan.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Mac) Goneke; his son, Mark (Windy) Morris; his sister, Vivian Lewis; his brother, Gary Morris; five grandchildren, Christopher Goneke, Erik (Christina) Morris, Leah (Brady) Simpson, Jillian (Martin) Brooks, and Kaitlin (Trevor) Wood; and six great-grandchildren, Noah Brooks, Conley Morris, Virginia Brooks, Walter Brooks, Claire Simpson, and Mary Cameron Wood, with two additional great-grandchildren, the Simpson twins, expected in the coming weeks.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Bower Memorial Baptist Church with Neal Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Cope-Keahey directing.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Goneke, Erik Morris, Noah Brooks, Mac Goneke, Martin Brooks, and Trevor Wood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Conley Morris, Walter Brooks, and Brady Simpson.
