Wilbur
Mr. Wilbur Earl Baggett passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 at the age of 93.
Wilbur was born on December 3,1930 to parents Eli and Missouri (Pearson) Baggett, who proceeded him in death. He was raised in Baggett’s Chapel. After driving a truck for many years Wilbur was a successful businessman in Evergreen. He and his brother Lavon ran Evergreen Truck Sales for many years. He also ran a logging business and was always buying and selling cars, trucks and equipment.
His favorite place on earth was Alaska. He went every year for over 30 years. He was known for the condition of the vehicles he went in. It was always a miracle he got there and back. He traveled down the Yukon once in a canoe. He was a long way from his truck when he realized he had left all his supplies and his keys in the truck. It didn’t faze him. He lived off the river and was fed by those he had just met.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday April 7,2024 at Baggetts Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Greg Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services at the cemetery. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.
